Man shot dead in street in Roermond
Police are investigating a fatal shooting on Terbaansweg and have yet to make any arrests.
A man died in Roermond on Sunday evening after a shooting on Terbaansweg. Police are looking for witnesses and camera footage; little is yet known about the victim’s identity or what happened.
At around 9.50pm, police received several reports of a shooting. Emergency services found a man on Terbaansweg who had been injured. Despite medical treatment, he died from his injuries.
The area was extensively cordoned off after the incident. Forensic Investigation officers are examining the crime scene and trying to secure evidence. Police are also requesting camera footage and speaking to people who may have seen or heard something.
No arrests have yet been made. Police have released no information about a possible suspect, motive or the reason for the shooting. It has therefore also not been established whether one or more shooters were involved.
The victim’s identity is not being released for the time being. Police said contact must first be made with the next of kin. No other personal details have been released either.
