Anthropic launches marketplace for Claude tools and services
Companies can find and buy connectors, agents, software and consultancy services through Claude Marketplace.
Anthropic has launched a marketplace for its AI assistant Claude. The service brings together technical integrations, plugins, AI agents, products and external service providers in one place.
According to Anthropic, Claude Marketplace has been available since 23 September. Organisations can add connectors and plugins, purchase Claude-related software and make contact with consultancy and implementation partners.
Anthropic says more than two thousand connectors and plugins were available at launch. The company mentions integrations with Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion and Salesforce, among others. The marketplace is therefore not just a download list, but also a distribution channel for business services.
According to Anthropic, customers can use part of their existing spending agreement with the company for products and agents. This should simplify procurement for organisations that have already committed budget to Anthropic. The company does not publish a general pricing model for all providers in the announcement.
According to Anthropic, developers can build connectors and plugins using Model Context Protocol and Agent Skills. The company says these standards give Claude access to business software and workflows. In practice, the security of such integrations remains dependent on permissions, data management and oversight by the customer.
The arrival of the marketplace changes Claude from merely an assistant or model service into a broader platform. This could help Anthropic keep customers within its ecosystem for longer and offer partners a route to business users. At the same time, it creates greater dependence on a single supplier for software, billing and access management.
The announcement does not yet prove that the marketplace has achieved a significant market position. The direction is clear, however: AI companies are trying not only to sell better models, but also to organise the applications, integrations and services built around those models.
