PSV records another profit as equity rises
The Eindhoven club ended the 2025-2026 season with a net profit of nearly €7 million.
PSV recorded a net profit of nearly €7 million for the 2025-2026 season. As a result, equity rose to €55 million, the highest level in the club’s history.
The figures appear in PSV’s annual report, published by the club on Tuesday. PSV says the positive result was partly due to a transfer result of more than €9 million and commercial income.
PSV reports that total operating costs rose to €157 million. These include spending on the playing squad, further professionalisation of the organisation and a feasibility study into expanding the Philips Stadion.
Revenue was lower than in the previous financial year. The club attributes this to the less successful European campaign. A strong sporting result does not automatically translate into higher income for a football club: European prize money, transfers, ticket sales and commercial contracts fluctuate from season to season.
Commercial income did develop positively. Sponsorship and hospitality generated more than €46 million. Merchandise and licensing brought in €12 million, while ticket sales generated €25 million.
According to PSV, the stadium welcomed 880,000 visitors during 26 home matches. The club combines this income with sporting ambitions and plans for further development of the stadium.
According to the annual report, the solvency ratio rose from 22 to 23 per cent. At the end of the financial year, PSV had more than €11 million in freely available liquid funds. Such figures are a snapshot; they do not mean that future transfers or European results are guaranteed.
PSV expects to remain profitable in the 2026-2027 season, partly because of participation in the Champions League and completed transfers. This is the club’s forecast, not an audited result for the new season.
The financial position underlines how closely sporting performance and business operations are connected at top clubs. At the same time, the risks remain significant: salaries, transfer values and European income can change quickly.
For supporters, the annual report mainly means that PSV has built up greater financial room. For staff, suppliers and business partners, the key question is whether the club uses that room for structural investment or higher sporting expenditure.
