Feyenoord report €12.6m loss
The Rotterdam club attributes the negative result mainly to lower income from European football.
Feyenoord closed the 2025-2026 financial year with a net loss of €12.6 million. Revenue fell sharply because the club progressed less far in the Europa League than it had the previous season in the Champions League.
The figures cover the financial year ending on 30 June 2026. Feyenoord reported revenue of €115.2 million and an operating loss of €25.7 million. After interest and tax, a net loss of €12.6 million remained, reducing equity to €24.7 million.
The club attributes the loss mainly to European income. Feyenoord reached the round of 16 of the Champions League in 2024-2025, but in 2025-2026 went no further than the league phase of the Europa League. According to the club, this resulted in a €51.5 million fall in revenue.
According to Feyenoord, costs remained roughly at the same level. As a result, the lower revenue could not be offset by savings. The club did post a positive result on players of €9.4 million after transfers and amortisation, but part of the transfer income was reinvested in the squad.
The loss comes a year after a record season. In the 2024-2025 financial year, Feyenoord recorded a net profit of €23 million according to its own annual accounts, partly thanks to its lucrative participation in the Champions League. The new figures therefore show how strongly a football club’s financial position can fluctuate with European success.
Feyenoord also points to organisational changes. On 14 July 2026, the merger with Stadion Feijenoord was completed. Around the change of season, Robert Eenhoorn was appointed general director and Dévy Rigaux technical director.
The club expects revenue to rise substantially again in the current season because Feyenoord has qualified for the 2026-2027 Champions League. That is an expectation, not a guarantee: the final result will also depend on sporting performances, transfers, wage costs and the development of the squad. The annual figures therefore mainly provide a snapshot of the club’s financial dependence on European football.
