Anthropic is reportedly working on a European consultancy to help businesses develop and implement AI. The plan has not been officially confirmed by Anthropic or investor Hg.
The new company would place AI engineers and consultants with European businesses. They would help design new AI products and scale up projects that are still in the testing phase.
According to reports, Anthropic is working with Hg, a London-based private-equity investor, on this. The consultancy would also serve companies in which Hg already invests.
The company is expected to launch by the end of 2026, with offices in London and Berlin. For Dutch businesses, such a service could be relevant if they want to use generative AI but lack sufficient technical and organisational expertise themselves.
The information is still preliminary. The report is based on sources familiar with the plans. Anthropic and Hg did not provide substantive comment to the reporting cited.
It is therefore not yet clear how many staff the consultancy will have, which customers it specifically intends to serve, or whether it will operate independently of Anthropic. Nor is it known what consequences the plan could have for the existing consultancy market or access to Anthropic’s models.

Left
Arguments An AI provider that also offers consultancy could help businesses move faster, but it increases dependence on commercial model providers and could subordinate public interests to sales.
Values Checks on power, public accountability, worker protection and fair access to technology.
Consequences There may be a need for stricter transparency concerning conflicts of interest, data use and the influence of AI consultants on public services.
Centre
Arguments External expertise can be useful as long as customers establish risks, costs and responsibilities in advance and can compare several suppliers.
Values Pragmatism, innovation, oversight and continuity of service.
Consequences The market could become more professional, but organisations must prevent consultancy and model sales from becoming too closely intertwined.
Right
Arguments Businesses should be free to decide which technologies and advisers improve their productivity; competition can produce innovation and lower costs.
Values Entrepreneurship, freedom of choice, efficiency and limited government intervention.
Consequences Rapid implementation could make European businesses more competitive, although contractual and security risks remain the customer’s responsibility.
