Arcadis saw organic revenue grow by 4.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2026 compared with a year earlier. The Dutch engineering and consultancy firm is maintaining its expectations for 2026 as a whole.
Arcadis reported net revenue of €991 million for the third quarter. Organic growth, excluding the effects of acquisitions, divestments and exchange rates, came to 4.3 per cent.
The operating EBITA margin rose by 0.9 percentage points to 12.5 per cent. Arcadis attributed the improvement to higher employee utilisation, lower costs in support functions, economies of scale and cost control.
The order book also increased. The company reported an order book of €3.9 billion, which grew organically by 7.9 per cent. The order book consists of contracts yet to be carried out and, according to Arcadis, provides visibility on future revenue, but is no guarantee that all contracts will be delivered in full or according to schedule.
According to the company, growth came mainly from energy, water, major transport programmes and industrial technology. Arcadis also cited strong order intake in the United States and the Netherlands in water activities, and in Germany in energy projects.
The company reported free cash flow of €131 million, compared with €80 million in the third quarter of 2025. Net debt fell to €910 million at the end of the quarter, from €1.042 billion at the end of the second quarter of this year.
Arcadis is maintaining its 2026 outlook for organic revenue growth in the low single digits and an operating EBITA margin of between 11.7 and 12 per cent. The company also announced targets for 2027 to 2029, including average annual organic revenue growth in the mid-single digits.
The figures are particularly relevant to the Dutch business services, construction and infrastructure sectors. Arcadis operates worldwide, and the quarterly statement does not break down revenue by the Netherlands. The figures therefore do not show precisely how much the Dutch activities contribute.
