Intel recorded revenue of $16.5 billion in the third quarter, 21 per cent more than a year earlier. The data centre and artificial intelligence division grew particularly strongly, but net profit fell, according to the quarterly figures.

The revenue growth came after a year in which Intel has been restructuring its production and product range. The company cites demand for Xeon processors for data centres as an important driver behind the improvement.

The Data Center and AI division generated $7.3 billion in revenue, 78 per cent more than in the same quarter of 2025. Revenue from Intel Foundry, the division that produces chips for its own products and customers, rose by 58 per cent to $6.7 billion, according to the figures.

At the same time, traditional PC operations remained under pressure. According to Intel's quarterly results, revenue from the Client Computing and Physical AI division fell by 5 per cent. Intel also warned that the slowdown in the PC market could continue until at least the first half of next year.

Net profit came to $3.3 billion, compared with $4.1 billion a year earlier. The company did report a higher operating margin. The difference between net profit and revenue growth shows that strong demand does not automatically lead to equally strong profit growth.

For the fourth quarter, Intel expects revenue of between $15 billion and $16 billion. The figures are relevant to the global chip supply chain, but do not yet show that Intel has structurally restored its competitive position. Whether that recovery continues will have to be seen in future results.
