The Dutch Data Protection Authority acted unlawfully in the case concerning VoetbalTV, the District Court of Midden-Nederland has ruled. The former video platform will nevertheless receive no compensation because it failed to substantiate the extent of its losses sufficiently.

An adopted motion does not yet oblige the cabinet to impose a ban, but does request legal options by early 2027.
The Lower House (Tweede Kamer) wants the cabinet to place further restrictions on the wearing of camera glasses. The government must investigate various legal options together with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens and report on them in the first quarter of 2027.
